Welcome to 5H
5th grade teacher of math and writing
I can't believe that on Monday it will be May! Wow, how time flies when we're busy learning :-) There is only a little over 30 days left of school, about 6 weeks when you count the weekends.
With that being said, this is a busy time of year for everyone. There are lots of after school events that bring the school community together at night, as well as some exciting special events during the day. Many students are also very busy with extracurricular activities. Please take time to check your students' planners on a nightly basis, and keep an eye on my weebly for a schedule of upcoming events. Thanks for the continued support!

With springtime comes changes to students' daily schedules. I will try to send out as many remind app messages as I can. I will also try to send home a calendar of events that will be affecting your students' schedule. Remind your child to be recording important dates in their planner calendar, as well as referencing the homework boards in each class.
Some important upcoming dates are the Scholastic Book order is due next Friday, April 28th, as well as the permission slip and $5 for the opera is due that date as well. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I can't believe April vacation is finally here! We have had a crazy winter filled with lots of wacky weather. However, it looks like it's going to be a great week to be outside and enjoying warmer temperatures. This will be great for the students, who I think really could enjoy some time outside.
Please keep in mind that the week we return we will be conducting our SBAC testing. As I stated before, breakfast and a good night's sleep will help prepare your students for success. Also, in order to give students a break I may not be assigning homework each night. Students will be able to communicate if it is a homework free night or not. Furthermore, please refer to my last post for the exact schedule the week we return. Students will not be meeting with all of their classes each day. |
