Welcome to 5H
5th grade teacher of math and writing
On Friday, January 26th students were sent home with a letter regarding Valentine's Day. The letter outlines our procedures for Valentine's Day. There will be no formal holiday celebration in any of the 5th grade classes, however we know that some students like to take part in handing out Valentines cards.
The letter generally states: -students should hand out valentines to everyone in their class in the spirit of community if they are choosing to participate -in alignment with the Health and Wellness policy students should not attach any food products to the valentines (including candy), but they may attach other trinkets such as pencils, erasers, or stickers. Please contact a 5th grade teacher with any further questions.

There are many reasons that students are absent lately from school: illness, doctor's appointments, and vacations. Please make your best effort to let the teacher know ahead of time if your child will be missing school. Also, try to communicate with the teacher to determine what your child has missed.
The students have a jam packed day while at school, and little time to make up missing work due to absences. The 5th grade teachers do their best to post resources on our websites and in the Google Classroom to support students in making up their work outside of school. Please contact the 5th grade team with any questions. It looks like we are in for a tough winter filled with snow days, and late and early closings. With that being said, our schedule of weekly events will be altered based on the snow days.
In most situations I will just pick up where we left off the next time we are in school. If there will be a specific change to the schedule when we return then I will post to this website and send out a remind message using the remind app. Students should also come in with the homework that was last given when they return to school. If you have further questions, please contact the teacher directly. |
